Point of Care Diagnostics

Our research seeks to overcome limitations of current diagnosis and treatment through stimuli-responsive polymer-based nanocomposite materials. Point of care engineered materials can help clinicians diagnose and treat patients locally, without complex and time-consuming laboratory analysis.

Theranostics

Therapeutic diagnostics combine the ability to diagnose disease with the ability to treat it. The group studies magnetic nanoparticles as MRI contrast agents, targeted materials, magnetic hyperthermia systems, and vehicles for controlled therapeutic delivery.

Multiferroics

Multiferroic materials exhibit coupled ferroic ordering. The group develops synthesis and processing techniques for composite multiferroics made from piezoelectric and magnetostrictive materials, pursuing enhanced magnetoelectric properties.
